How does it work?
Pilates Mini has been designed for you to take your Pilates reformer band workout wherever you go. When you purchase a Pilates Mini it will come with Pilates home workout videos. We recommend one minute per exercise and a total of 10 minutes per round, with an option of repeating twice. This video library will continue to grow and be added to for you to follow and build strength.

What is the recommended number of workouts weekly with Pilates MiniIf your are a little unconditioned then you can notice increased muscular strength and awareness in ten days of using the Pilates Mini. If your regular to Pilates classes or strength training you will most likely feel the same results with Pilates Mini workouts however you may want to increase your workout to twenty minutes to enhance your muscular load. Pilates Mini is recommended daily as we suggest you target a different area of the body and then 24 hours before you target the same area again under that resistance. Suggesting you plan out your week like this Mondays Standing upper body and core workout Tuesdays Standing whole body workout Wednesday Glutes and arms workout Thursdays Lying down legs, arms and core workout Fridays Stretch and mindful mobility Weekends Repeat any of the above and add more resistance or rest for two days! More information is provided in your instruction booklet when you purchase the product.

How does the set up work?All you will need to use Pilates Mini, is a doorway. The set comes with a door anchor that you place in a closed doorway towards you or otherwise in the hinge of the door like the diagrams below. Make sure you enough space to place your mat down for a lying down exercise series. Alternatively you can use no door anchor and use the theraband on their own for isolated arm strengthening exercises.

You burn energy and calories when using Pilates Mini
Not that calories are some of our end goal but as a result of resistance and compound exercises (working several muscles at the same time), not only will you use more energy and burn more calories as a result, you will get an effective full-body workout.
Pilates Mini works the core in every movement
Resistance bands can feel a little unsteady to use, the constant tension means you have to work hard to engage the core to maintain control and form. We talk about alignment of the hips and posture to keep activating the deeper stabilizers’, therefore its efficient for building core strength and stability.
Options to increase muscle tone
Resistance band training you have the option of increasing muscle tone with heavier weight with resistance and less overall repetitions, this will affectively increase the number of calories you burn when the body is at rest. When you increase your muscle mass, you boost your metabolic rate which therefore makes the body burn more energy/calories.
Improve flexibility and mobility with Pilates Mini
One of the best ways to keep muscles healthy and strong, and to improve flexibility and mobility, is to use resistance bands for gentle stretching. For example, you can do a hamstring stretch lying on your back, increasing the range of movement by using a resistance band to intensify the stretch by keeping the leg straight and taking a few breaths, taking the stretch a little further. Make sure you hold the stretch for 30 seconds and when your body is warm not cold. Otherwise doing legs in straps exercises is great for hip mobility and back restriction.

Exercising with resistance bands can target the deep stabilisers of the spine, glutes and back muscles. This reduces stress on the spine which can reduce pain and stiffness in your weaker zones.

Your workout will be challenging depending on how much time you spend under tension on the band, helping improve balance as well as gaining physical strength.
